Hi everyone so this is it, we are almost done. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who read my blogs and gave me their feedback, it really helped me. This course had improved my knowledge of using technology in a better/safer way. I feel very confident and comfortable using online tools now, because of all the materials that we have learned and applied in practice. I will recommend this course to all of my friends and others.
On that note this week was another learning experience for me, I was able to learn about webcasting tools known as Podcasts and Screencasts, both holds different features. I personally like how Podcasts is being utilized. One of the efficient way to learn and can be used for entertainment. I chose sound cloud as my webcasting tool and I have to admit I had some fun with it. Kept recording my voice over and over again. Some people would prefer to record their opinions and sent their message across. Sometimes is easier to verbally speak out their ideas rather than typing, everyone has their own way of learning/interpreting. I think this a good solution when working in group presentations for a class, some people are shy to speak in front of the class or nervous and I think this is the best way to eliminate that issue. They can just play the recordings for the most part. I will add this to my PLE under learn and create, which will be beneficial for my future projects. I had a chance to explore sound cloud and be familiarized with the features.
This week on feed had a chance to read about Sony Smart Band Talk review. This has enormous features track all of your activities, you can talk to it, and use is as a normal phone and more.
This week was also another important week for us because we had a chance to learn about Animoto and Copyright rules. Elementary school was the first time I had learned about slide shows and I remember I was fascinated to learn about the simple features and yet struggled to make a slideshow. Ever since that experience I had always avoided making power points. Of course, I as time progressed I was getting comfortable with making slideshows but I was never impressed with the outline. Power point had very limited options and there was no need for new exploration. However after exploring about Animoto
Here is the Link for my online Animoto https://animoto.com/project/SHBWGxWaQ57B5MsZyixAzQ
Copy Right Law
Understanding the importance of copyright had increased after completing this week’s session. Any online source that are being used towards your personal work must be cited accordingly. Different citations are being required for different purposes. As a Digital, Citizen should obey the Digital Law element six (Ribble, p.11)
I will add this to my PLE under learning and create since this is one of the new tools that we came across and had a chance to learn about it. We had a chance to understand the importance of copyright and explored Animoto.
This week article on feed is about “are cooking crumbling up our privacy? We asked an expert to find out” In some cases having computer cookies can be dangerous because people can track our personal information. Author Montulli had mentioned using Netscape browser can be a much safer choice. Feel free to read the article for further information.
Hi everyone, I sense that everyone is having a busy month just like how I ‘am since we are all heading towards the end of the term. Every week we had a chance to learn about new tools and engage with other people. Last week we had a chance to work with people that we never met before, but only rely on Todays meet,Google Docs, and Ever note, emails in order to communicate. Which was a great experience, although it was a little bit difficult. This week has also been a great week because we had a chance to learn about Voice thread. Personally I have never heard of this before, this will definitely be a great learning approach for myself. This tool is designed for people to collaborate through voice recordings and type any comments as required. Some people can express their ideas better verbally and some people can learn better by listening, rather than reading. I think this is a great learning strategy because I learn better by listening, watching, speaking and listening to feedback/comments of my work. Also had a chance to participate in The Poll Daddy Polls for the Digital Compass Activity to answer various questions. This is also a good way to learn because this allows everyone to participate and communicate. I will add Voice thread to my PLE under learn and create because we had a chance to explore about this new tool and created a new account under my name. This is a different way of learning and people have their own ways of learning. I intend to share this tool with other people.
In terms of attaining Digital Citizenship, is crucial to understand the concept of "Electronic exchange of information" (Ribble p.23). It's important to expand the communication strategies using different methods.

This week's Feed I found an interesting article “TED2015 Skype in the Classroom with Dan Pallotta” basically they will be using Skype in class to share or communicate with other students. To get everyone’s opinions and o learn about something new.I thought this was kind of a neat idea because now day’s students learn better using the creative strategies. This is great learning approach as well.
“During word processing class, Mr. McIntosh notices
that Mary has both of her hands under the computer desk. As Mr. McIntosh come
around to her station Mary puts her hands back on the keyboard but he notices
that her cell phone is on her lap with a text on the screen. Mr. McIntosh asks
Marty to stay after class, where she says that she was sending a text to her
mother about picking her up after school. What does the teacher do”? (Ribble
p.92).
This particular
scenario definitely falls under Inappropriate Digital Communication because
Mary was using her cell phone during her class. (Ribble p. 24). The can cause
disturbance to other classmates, she is concentrating on her text messages,
rather than her class and also Professor Mr. McIntosh also got distracted due
to this situation. There are so many ways she could have avoided this incident
by advising her mother of her pick up timings earlier, could of called her
mother during her lunch break, or could have went up to Mr. McIntosh and asked
for his permission for few minutes for her to use the phone outside of the
class. Using cell phone in class should not be allowed, not only Mary is
getting distracted, but along with others. Teacher should give her a serious
warning and give suggestions for future references so that this incident would
not be repeated again. Regardless of the reason Mary was involved in
Inappropriate Digital Communication.
Hi, I had an amazing learning experience this week, we had a chance to learn about wiki and develop our collaborative skills. Personally I dislike using wiki because of various reasons the content, lack of accuracy, not useful for any academic sources, anyone can add hyperlinks and lists can expand. With all these negative outcomes about wiki, however, there is one good thing that I enjoyed while exploring the collaborative work was that I was able to explore and learned about online teamwork. Donald also mentions “A wiki is a strongly collaborative medium that forces people to be collaborative. More than this, it teaches you to be collaborative within a set of rules, where negotiation, decision - making and eventual agreement are necessary.” another important factors to take into consideration is that exchange each other’s ideas, being able to edit each other’s work, can add files, visuals, search for information regarding a specific topics and Google Docs also has a similar feature. I really like the fact that, everyone can edit each other’s work and add their own inputs. Also in universities we are restricted to reference a Wikipedia, so we really don’t have any benefit from using it. Sometimes I try to use a wiki, but with an enormous amount of hyperlinks I tend to get confused easily.
From the beginning of the term, we had a chance to learn about the nine elements and the benefits it has towards becoming a digital citizen. It is important to have an understanding of Digital Rights and Responsibilities. In that sense, I think it is crucial to understand the four different sub-topics that fall under DRR, first being able to report Cyberbullies, threats, and other inappropriate activities. Second being able to have a secure protection against our privacy information. Third is Freedom of Expression, but still have set limits. Lastly having access to any online materials and have to ensure credit is being reported to that particular source. (Ribble, p.37) I will add this to my PLE because these are important factors to consider to become a Digital Citizen however I will not add Wiki to my PLE because I don’t think it captures the importance of a reliable source.
This week on feedly I had found an amazing article about a Robot named Budgee basically it’s a grocery carrying robot. It will just follow you around and it is responsible for obeying the command of the owner. I thought this a great idea because this will definitely be beneficial for the elderly people, pregnant ladies and people with any disabilities.
Every day is a learning experience for me and my knowledge is improving day by day. I really like the idea of working as group online and share each other’s feedback. Now I know if there is a group presentation or group project we don’t necessarily need to meet up. We can stay where we are and still work online and which will create the same impact as well.
This week’s activity was pretty interesting and exciting because we got to work with people that we have never met before. That was a new experience for me and we had to meet our partners through Todays meet and had to our group presentation using Google doc. This is a great way to doing a group presentation and getting all the ideas together. I remember we had to do a group project and group members were not willing to meet up because they were all busy with their own schedules. It was really a struggle to follow up with everyone and to even find out, who is responsible for a specific part. We ended up getting a really bad mark on that project because of lack of communication. After discovering about Google Docs and Today meet I ‘am confident that I will not let that happen again because this allows everyone to be online and still work on the project, also we don’t necessarily need to meet up. Now days most of the people prefer to work on online rather than meeting up.
I never used Google Docs, prior to this week’s activity I had a chance to do some exploration and came to know that is useful for uploading a document, Invite other people to collaborate on a specific document, reliable for editing use, comment or view access, make necessary modification review any previous documents, use for presentations, spreadsheets and drawings. Once all the information gets uploaded in good doc, you can simply access this information from anywhere, don’t have to worry about losing your work anymore, and because everything will be automatically saved. As usual I looked up some you tube’s videos about Google Docs and it made me understand the concept more visually.
Mary Pickering and Robert Plitt. (CC) 2013.
The most important feature which I liked, the most was that more than one person can be working on the same document. Everyone can jump in and start including each other’s information, suggesting more ideas, share their researched information, feedbacks and continue to elaborate. People are becoming comfortable working online and this way they are open to incorporating more ideas without hesitating.
In Digital Citizenship is important to understand the “Digital Rights and Responsibilities, this also falls under four sub-topics and we should also focus on that DRS Issues, DRS Inappropriate/ appreciate and DRS Keywords” ( Ribble,p. 36).
I will add this to my PLE under “Professional, Learn and Create” This can be used for professional use and explore all the capacities that it has to offer in the future. I will definitely recommend this to my friends and co-workers so that they can also benefit from this.
This week’s article is about, Iris scanning technology is coming to secure all the smartphones in the future. They making the phone to have more security and also to maintain their privacy in case of the occurrence of theft. I thought this was a great idea. Delta ID unveiled the new feature that it has to offer. This technology will literally allow you to use your eyes to unlock the password from a phone.
This was another learning experience for me since, we had a chance to work people that we don’t really know or met before. Excited for next week, because I get to improve my knowledge. Thank you for another learning experience.
I actually never heard of Evernote tool before, but after hearing about
it I simply felt astonished because of the amount of features that it has to
offer. This tool can be used for the people who are affected by short term
memory loss problems. That can be prevented by storing specific ideas that we
see, hear, taste or even smell, essentially falls under everything. I have a
major problem in recalling something, especially school related matters and
even a simple thing. I feel grateful to learn about this specific tool, this
will help me in the long run and will allow me to stay organized.
I would come across so many
thoughts throughout my day I would refuse to write it down because of my
laziness and I would assume that I will remember, but in reality that is not
the case. After hearing about this tool I got so excited I felt though there is
a solution for my problem now instantaneously I can simply record everything.
Especially using my phone I can access it anywhere, organize it the way I want
it to appear and share with people to get their feedbacks. I realized this can
be beneficial for group presentations and we can simply have access to all the
group members’ information. As mentioned
in this article
there are so many features that we can access within Evernote like web
clipping, create new tags, create new text notes, use tags, how to modify note
source/URL attributes, how to work with notebooks, sharing and collaboration
and the power of sync. Even though, there are number of articles posted on
Sakai, I felt though I needed to do my own research to clarify some
doubts. I watched a couple of YouTube videos and also
because I ‘am a visual learner so I need to see videos and picture in order to
comprehend all of the information in proficient matter.
Mergy.J. (2012, May 14). Evernote Retrieved from http://mergy.org/2012/05/use-the-evernote-clipper-with-safari-on-ipad-and-iphone/
I would definitely add this to my
PLE under “learn and create” because this allows me to have new categories of
the new tools that I learn about every week. This week on feed, I have come
across this article about
iPhone 5C and how it exploded in an individual’s pocket during Valentine’s
Day. I also use iPhone, I was concerned anyone who is using the iPhone I guess
they should be extra cautious or research about it. That sounded pretty
dangerous to me that individual was also admitted to the hospital due to that
incident.
I read all the comments on this article about
Evernote and people seems to be having good experience with it and they also
inspired me to open my own account. I was really fascinated to know that we can
have access to Evernote using any digital device. By using Evernote, I know
that I will be up to date with everything, especially in school. I also have a
bad habit of not saying works and I have lost my works in many incidents, but I
know this will not happen again because it will automatically save my work. I
will never need to worry about losing my work ever again and I can just keep
building my ideas. I realized the importance of understanding digital literacy
and the sub-topics that fall under digital literacy issues, examples of
inappropriate/appropriate digital literacy and digital literacy
keywords”(Ribble, p.27).

Overall I had a great
experience in exploring Evernote and I will definitely use this in the future,
mostly for my education purpose. I will share this with my friends who are not
taking this course so that they can also benefit from this. My knowledge is keep
improving every week as we are discovering about new Digital tools and I feel
confident. Thank you.
This will be our fifth
week and wow time is flying and made me realize the importance of our time. In
this short period of time we have access in many different Digital tools and
still in the process of gaining more knowledge. There are so many information
that I was not aware of before, but now I have especially about the Nine
Elements. Now days when I become access to new website or tools, I tend to be
extra cautious and I check to see if it meets my requirements.
On that note this week we
are looking into Microblogging known as Personal Learning Network and how Twitter
can be utilized. What is PLN, well according to Klingensmith K,
PLN
is the entire collection of people with whom you engage and exchange
information, usually online.” I couldn’t have agreed more, basically creating a
network online and how we can use that as our own learning tool.
Why is Twitter one of
the best Web to be used as PLN?
According to
Mrs. Kathleen MorrisTwitteris a social networking and microblogging service that
allows you to send out short messages called tweets. Tweets are limited to 140
characters but can also contain media like photos or videos.
To be honest I never
used Twitter before, I heard about it, but never clicked in my mind. I started
using it and realized you can have access to enormous information from Twitter
and other. I like to read less and yet gain more information, I really like the
idea of only 140 characters can be included. With such limited amount of
characters being used, you can still pass your message across and this time
people will be more likely to read all of your tweets. Also is amazing to know
that we can have access to thousands of teachers around the world, this means
we can connect with them and improve our own knowledge in preferred areas. This
information page is also proving an enormous
messages as to how we can access Twitter and PLN. This slide is providing a
very detailed feedback about using PLN
to set up our twitter. Demonstrating different strategies
to connect with people around the globe, especially the people who are in the
same field. I also realized Twitter is very similar to Feedly, but I feel
more comfortable with Twitter because of the limited characters that are being
used to illustrate the main concept.

Digital Literacy is one
of the most important element in attaining a Digital Citizenship because it
allows an individual to have knowledge on Digital Literacy issues, examples of
Inappropriate/appropriate Digital Literacy and understand the Digital Literacy
Keywords. (Ribble, 2011 p.27).
This week has been
another learning experience of all the Digital Tools that are out there and how
we can benefit from it.
Every day is a new learning experience
for everyone on that note this week we were able to discover about curating
tools and different book marking strategies. I use different webs all the time and if I feel
that is important for me then I would just add to my book mark, then it would
take me longer time to go through all of the webs because I would normally have
a huge list and have to wait until everything loads. I was so happy to find out
that there is different options that I can consider for books marking.
This week I learned about Diigo which
allows you to take notes and highlight various information on web pages. You
can then bookmark and save this information for additional review, while adding
tags to characterize everything in certain orders. Another amazing things that I
discovered was that bookmarking allows you to share any information with people
around the world. You can bookmark and save any information that you
desire for further review. All of this information can be saved
online and can be accessed by any computer, cell phones and any other digital
tools. You can also take notes by using a sticky note and you can move it
anywhere on the web so that in the future you can have access to it.
This will benefit me while I ‘am
doing a research assignments or essays because this allows me to organize all
the notes in order and this allows me to perform well. It allows me to compare
all the notes in order and have easy access to all the information.
According to Beth “for some staff members,
content curation can be professional of learning. Professional development used
to be about getting trained or acquiring a specific skill”. People can use this
for a professional purpose and can really benefit from this.
Over all I had an amazing experience by learning about new tools
and can’t wait for another week. Thank you
Now
I am able to eliminate the similar information
that appear multiple times on sites that don’t update very often. It saved me
so much time from reading the same information, but more efficiently. This also
allows me to understand the content of Digital Literacy since I can only get
updated with only recent information. I ‘am in favor of reading Toronto newspaper,
face book, and you tube most often. This allows me to be more organized and
only get updated with current news and this allows me to improve my knowledge
most often. This also allows me to stay
connected with other people and have access to their productive information as
well. This activity is a great attribute for my PLE.
Well RSS stands for “Really Simple Syndication
or Rich Site Summary
“Now what does that mean”?
“This is an acronym used to describe the de factor standard
for the syndication of web content. RSS in an XML-based format and while it can
be used in different ways for content distribution, it’s most widespread usage is
in disturbing news headlines on the web” (Ribble, 2011 p.148).
Well at first I was having difficulties as to how it works or
what it is? Then I started browse different webs and information that was posted
on Sakai. Later I was able to comprehend the information in very clearly. Along with
that I had to watch couple of you tube’s videos in order to put the puzzle together.
Basically this is a very easy method
service revolutionizing the way we search for certain websites. This means when
we visit certain websites, we don’t need to keep checking for the new updates rather we
just need to subscribe to the RSS feed, then we will have access to all the
updates within no time.
Result of setting up my own RSS
After I set up my own account, feedly then I realized the importance of it and
how I can utilize the advancement functions for my own benefit. I realized this
is a great tool for me to get all the necessary information about
neuropsychology and about mental health issues. I downloaded the app on my phone as
well, so that I can have access to all the information in my fingertips. I have
subscribed to numerous sites psychology, mental health,
designs, makeups and designs. All the information that are being updated on the
site is accurate and very helpful. I always wanted to do research about my
career and get familiarize, but sometimes I get caught up with my own school
work and plus my part time job. This way the app is on my phone and I can
access this information while being on the bus, home and even at my own work place. Rather
than using internet to go on face book or instagram, I would rather read relevant
information about my career and gain insightful knowledge. I'am glad that i took this course because it helps me to improve my knowledge and i'am learning something new every session.
“How can we relate RSS Feedly to Digital
Citizenship”?
I think while downloading these new websites is
crucial to consider the elements that are inappropriate digital communication
verses appropriate in 3 Digital Communication.
There is a possibility of having negative issues while using an Email, Cell
Phones, Personal Video calls Skype, Instant Messaging, Blogs, Wikis and Social
networking. (Ribble, 2011 p.24) Users must understand what is appropriate/not
when communicating with other technology users. On the other hand example of
appropriate communication would be “Digital communication technologies such as
social networking sites are used to support student activities in the
classroom, such as sharing ideas or writing with others” (Ribble, 2011 p.24). Also
element 9 Digital Security is also
one of the most important issues that we should be cautious about while downloading
these websites. Before downloading is important to do our own research and
discover about the positive/negative aspect of certain web tools. Some of the issues that you should be taking
into consideration would be “protecting your hardware and network security also
students might fail to protect their identity when using email, social networking”
(Ribble, 2011 p.41) RSS Feedly can be one of the tool that must be followed
under Digital Citizenship for safety purposes.
In
this century technology sure does play a vital role in everyday human’s life. It
is certainly crucial to explore the importance of all the digital tools that
are out there that we are in contact with. Ever since I started attending
school I have been exposed to number of digital tools Google, Microsoft word,
Skype, Fire fox, face book, YouTube, online banking and other. In this session
each individual is required to create a Personal Learning Environments (PLE) to
explore the purpose of using digital tools. I use internet for three different purposes
for education, entertainment and online banking. Education to improve my academic
level and gain more knowledge and have access to any information, entertainment
to watch movies listen to music and visit social media websites, like Facebook,
Instagram and Pinteres. Online banking to pay my off my overdue bills, transfer
funds, and check balances. As I was starting to plot my personal learning
environment diagram I discovered number of ways to connect with people from all
over the world through Web 2.0. Also share my knowledge with others, and how I can
receive information and continue to exchange information in a timely manner.
Now days networking also plays a vital role in our improved technology society world
because it’s important to know people from all kind of ethnicity. Social media
had to be included in my PLE because I learn so much from face book there are
so many pages we can just click like and we automatically have access to any information.
For example on face book one individual created a group for math subject for
university and invited everyone who is taking that subject can have access to
any information and also definitely benefit from it. They work as a team and
help each other even in universities surprisingly. The more
knowledge I possess more possibilities in life therefore it is crucial to gain intellectual
information. I will break down the Personal Learning environment into three
different steps.
P-Personal
By creating a personal learning environment, I discovered
different qualities about myself and different opportunities. Although only
recently I discovered about my career path. I envision myself in 5 years down
the road I will be attaining my masters and in the process of becoming a Neuropsychologist.
By that time I will have a clear understanding of what my field has to offer. Will
also have a great understanding of how human brain works and as times
progresses I will be learning about all of the fundamental information about
human brains. As I work my way up will be doing my PHD as Neuropsychologist. As I attend my medical school I will work at
the hospital and treating patients who are affected by mental illness and
connect with them internally to understand their inner thoughts. Understand
their pain, their innocence, their outlook of the world and what their mind is
focusing on, internal/external circumstances.
L- Learning
In order
for me to become a neuropsychologist I will be using various web searches in order
to attain more knowledge, I will be using Google, email professors who are teaching
neuroscience and using brock email, use Linkdin to connect with all the people
who are already in my field and use their guidance, it is also one of the
professional web. Build a professional network
and stay connected with people from Facebook. I also need develop some discipline
for myself and prioritize my school first. Sometimes I leave things to the last
minute and it reflects on my marks even though it’s my first year I should have
no excuse. I also have to eliminate my procrastination habit however I do have
some positive qualities that can take me close to my goal. Will continue with
my learning journey until I reach my dream which is to become a
Neuropsychologist.
E-Environment
The environment that I am surrounding myself
plays an important role from achieving my goal. I should start to volunteer at the
hospital and get more experience. Finding resources and places that are
affiliated with Neuropsychology so that I create my own micro network. Which
will definitely benefit me in the future for references and for other purposes.
Another important thing is to surround myself with people or place where I can
increase my productivity.
Over all I had a positive impression during
this assignment and had a chance to experience number of tools. There is
something new every day to learn and I ‘am more than enthused to learn all the aspects.
There are positive side as well as negative side to all the skills that we
develop and especially in today’s technology. Looking forward to learn more and
approaching ahead with a positive attitude.
My intention of this blog is to
express my own thoughts and creativity. This blog is needed for the course of ADED 1P32. This is a stepping stone for us discover the root of digital world and
this allows us to build networks, express our professionalism and create new opportunities.
Srilanka
Hi my name is Janani
Sundaralingam I was born in Srilanka known as a beautiful country or an island.
One of the most admirable place for tourist to visit. In most cases tourist are
astonished by the natural beauty and countless things to do see, discover, eat
and experience.
This is my first year at Brock
University and my intention is to become a neuropsychologist. I would like to get involved with the researchers and diagnose a treatment for the people who
are suffering from mental illness. I
came to Canada in the year of 2002 and I am honored to be part of this multicultural country. After meeting many people from different ethnicity, I realized that
there is no room for any racism. Everyone was being treated equally despite of their
background.
Now days everything is revolved
around technology and internet is becoming one of the important tool for everyday
use. We need internet to do everything for school, work, online banking, social
media, network and list continues. Some of the advantages of having access to internet
you can find information on almost anything you desire, powerful search
engines, online banking and people rely on internet for almost everything. However
disadvantages can also accumulate by having access to internet, illegal activities
can expand rapidly. Hackers can create viruses that can get into your personal
computer and ruin valuable data or steel your personal information, people
waste their time on social media especially teenagers and spamming.
Footprints
Digital immigrants are being
their victims and in today’s world it became much harder to distinguish between
a fake account and a real website. Strangers can have accesses to our foot
prints that we are leaving behind and not everyone is aware of this. This
basically means that you are unintentionally leaving traces of your personal information
and a third person can simply hack into your system without your own knowledge.
This doesn't sound too safe even though there are ways that you can
protect your system, but how many people are actually aware of that? Another
disadvantage is Radiation, I came across this neat YouTube video which explains
the electromagnetic radiation that we are creating every day and how it affects
our health. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQryZbxlqXI
Disadvantages
It is crucial to learn about
all the nine elements to attain the digital citizenship. Towards the end ADED online
course I am confident that I will have a clear understanding of nine elements. “Digital
Access, Digital Commerce, Digital Communication, Digital Literacy, Digital
Etiquette, Digital Law, Digital Rights and Responsibilities, Digital Health and
Wellness, lastly Digital Security (Self Protection)” (Ribble. 2011).
Cause of Radation
Two
elements that stood out the most for me was the “Digital Literacy is to
understand the basics browsers, search engines, download engines, and email”
(Ribble. 2011). “Examples of Inappropriate and appropriate Digital Literacy and
digital keywords” (Ribble. 2011). I believe that each individual who are using
internet should have an idea of Digital Literacy.
Also Digital Health and Wellness is the most important
element. “Internet addiction can cause both psychological and well as physical
problems” (Digital citizenship in schools p. 38). I found some ways that radiation
can be avoided,so that we can all maintain a healthy environment. Avoid electric blankets, water beds, and
electric heating pads, Move the clock away or get a
battery-powered clockLED
flat screen TVs are the best option; old-style TVs give off more radiation, and
unplug electrical devices within 6 feet of the bed.
I had an amazing time reading each
individual’s blog everyone had a chance to express their opinions. I ‘am hoping
to learn about the positive aspect of the Digital world and find ways to eliminate
all the negative attributes. In the process of discovering more.
Is enough time devoted to learning how
to sue the technology tools in the classroom?
How can student be physically affected
by technology or injured?
